I'm Dexter Komakaru, the queer human behind my
one-man visual arts practice and creative studio DXTROSE.

Acclaimed freelance artist, published illustrator and speaker, independent art studio owner.

I'm Dexter Komakaru, the queer human behind my
one-man visual arts practice and creative studio DXTROSE.

Since establishing my practice professionally in 2015,
I've worked every day to create art that speaks to, engages and inspires others. Influenced by my roots in community organizing and multigenerational storytelling, I create artwork that combines my passion for creating visual media with a message promoting intersectional activism, restorative justice, and finding beauty in the world around us.

Whether you have an idea for a custom piece of art,
a large-scale project, illustration or design, I have the
experience and ability to bring your concept to life.
